What is Bitcoin?
That is a great question, but basically Bitcoin is the early and most interesting usage of blockchain technology to date in the open source free web world. It is run by a large amount of servers (nodes) worldwide who verify network transactions. This is a distributed & decentralized network, you can download the Bitcoin Core software here: There is no central office of control, it's only Yes or No verification is based on math. IF the math adds up, the transaction goes, if not it is rejected. Simple huhhh? We'll there's a lot more!!!
Blockchain on the other hand is THE technology every major corporation is talking about, but implementation has been slow mainly due to the fast speed of the evolution of the technology itself, imho. Lots of use cases are being explored. Ethereum's blockchain is another network to look at for dapps - aka Digital Applications - like smart contracts, digital title (proof) of land or real estate, insurance verification, 3d printing verification, logistics a nd shipping, etc, etc. The list is long and wide as several new networks are launching as well. Security Tokens is also a new buzz word to follow --- Fact is the market is growing much like the internet days of the early & mid 1990's.
Below are a group of videos that will help you grasp how and what Bitcoin and the blockchain technology mean going forward for you at work and at everyday life in this new digital revolution:
